Social Media Marketing
Lose 10lbs AND Build your business with these 5 tips.
Spring has “officially” arrived (whether or not the weather shows it).
With the Victoria Day Long weekend behind us, many people start fretting about their beach body or lack thereof.
To be sure, getting fit is no easy task. The first few weeks are the worst, where everything hurts and there’s no measurable progress.
It’s a lot like starting a social media marketing campaign. It’s hard to fit the time in to your schedule. You know you should, and feel guilty if you don’t.
Here’s a few pointers to consider if you’re procrastinating.
Take the path of least resistance:
If you make it easy for yourself you’ll do it.
Whether you’re leaving your gym bag by the door or managing your social media accounts while you eat lunch at your computer, if you can find a way to piggy-back your new habit on top of an existing one (like walking out the door), you’ll find it much easier to stick to.
Not all benefits are measurable.
It bears reminding that not all the benefits of your efforts are measurable, or even noticeable. But with both working out and social media marketing there are hidden benefits at play. Remind yourself of the following when you feel like throwing in the towel.
Working out will help you sleep better (and need less sleep), it relieves tension, ups your metabolic rate and helps release toxins.
Social media marketing keeps you and your brand top of mind, informs you virtually instantly of updates in your network or industry, increases the size of your network & therefore your connections, and maintains your credibility.
Consistency is Key:
It may seem obvious but it bears repeating that consistency is key. Experts debate it takes anywhere from 21 days and longer to form a habit, with the early stages being the most important.
Promise yourself you’ll go to the gym, or market your business with social media every day for one month. Odds are by the time that month rolls around you won’t find it so bad to keep going. Forming a habit is critical to maintaining consistency.
Over time you’ll notice the referrals pour in and the pounds melt off. Just keep at it!
Have a plan:
Wandering into the weight room and randomly selecting 4 machines to use won’t get you ripped.
The same goes with social media marketing. If you create a detailed plan of action before you start, you’ll get much better results than aimless contact.

Measure your results:
The elation of seeing the shrinking numbers on your scale or measuring tape is sometimes exactly what’s needed to keep your motivation going. If you set specific goals and are able to see tangible progress towards these goals you will be much more likely to stick to your routine.
These 5 points aren’t anything you haven’t heard before, but hopefully these reminders will help you achieve your fitness and business building goals.
